My hope in sharing my seaweed art is to celebrate the vibrant diversity of BC’s seaweeds which are inseparable from the ecosystems they flourish in. These ecosystems are highly at risk due to a number of factors, but the good news is that BC has dedicated organizations working to study and protect kelp forest environments and the lands that feed into them, and to educate the public on more sustainable and attuned ways of being in the world.

I am delighted to dedicate 10% of my profits earned on the sale of all art on this site to two organizations I believe in, the Galiano Conservancy and the Marine Education & Research Society. I am constantly humbled by the vastness of the ocean and the splendor of its creatures and plant-life and I feel fortunate to be able to witness this in my lifetime. I hope my art can incite the curiosity to know more and charge each of us to do our part to protect this gift for many future generations to come.
