Originals

These unique organic works are made with seaweed pressed directly onto watercolour paper and hold an intertidal story of an ocean garden just beyond sight. Each original pressing details the place and date of harvest and is hand signed.

Original seaweed pressings really are a living art. And so they may shift in colour over time, it is part of their charm! It’s a point to consider when you are deciding between an original seaweed pressing and a print.

Limited Edition Prints

These Limited Edition Prints are available in small batch limited runs. Each piece is signed and numbered by hand. Printed using archival quality inks on Fine Art Watercolour paper, they can be difficult to discern from original seaweed pressings. A great option for longevity in sunny spaces.

After the Storm

After the Storm, is my account as witness to this winter’s storms in their immensity. Humbling as they were, the high winds and thunderous waves offered a glimpse at the splendid and diverse worlds just beyond reach. From the misty forest canopy, the storms cast down storied branches of moss and spectacular lichens, and, just beyond, the ocean churned up the sea garden splashing the high tideline with jewel-toned seaweeds. Celebrating the interconnectedness of forest and sea and the beauty in the calm when the storm has settled,

After the Storm is my first tribute to the wild, unsettled forces that are shaping our land and seas in this era of Climate Change.

Cyanotypes

This collection of original seaweed cyanotypes was a summer of 2022 project entirely printed with local seaweeds. Cyanotype printing is an eighteenth-century photo developing medium that celebrates the delicate silhouette, transparency, and texture of a subject. This chemical exchange of sunshine and seaweed captures the watery, ethereal qualities of the West Coast sea garden.

Each original cyanotype is printed on cotton sateen with unfinished edges. These cyanotypes look fantastic framed with mat and displayed in collections or among other seaweed art!
